Psychosocial Oncology Care & Health Navigation

A diagnosis of cancer – or any life-threatening illness – can throw your life into upheaval and cause trauma in the short-term and in the years to come. After a decade of working in oncology, I have distinct experience and expertise in working with those diagnosed with cancer, their children and their caregivers.

Together l help you and your family to advocate for access to what you need and want. I strongly believe that with the right support, patients have the ability to drive their care and treatment preferences.

End of Life Decision-Making

In addition to supporting those through diagnosis, treatment and “survivorship”, I also support you and your loved-ones through the end of life transition if treatment stops working. Together we enter into the end-of-life stage of cancer care in order to make decisions and come to terms with death. Instead of needless suffering that can come from being intent on treating and curing, we move to a place together of accepting and grieving. By bravely engaging with palliative care and the end-of-life cycle, I hold space for patients and their families to experience something meaningful during this transition.

Laying the groundwork for dying and death helps people to make informed choices that benefit themselves and their families, and alleviates “in-the-moment” panic decisions that cause trauma and distress.  For more on my oncology practice check out Insight Naturopathic Clinic.
